The passion came first. The craft followed.
To judge a work properly is to be able to read it — and the market it stands in.
I started in a gallery. That is where I learned what no book contains: how to place a work, read signatures and techniques, judge condition honestly and document provenance cleanly. Today the advice is independent, tied to no auction house and no gallery.

What does the first conversation cost?
Nothing. A photograph and a few lines on provenance are enough to begin. It is free and without obligation — even if the honest end is that you should do nothing.
How is this different from Böcker Fine Art?
Here I buy and place modern and contemporary art, value works, and stay with sales and estates. Silver, jewellery, porcelain, furniture and other fields run through boeckerfineart.de. Same person, kept apart.
Do you visit?
Yes. Across North Rhine-Westphalia I come to the object, discreetly if you prefer. For larger collections and estates I also travel further, by arrangement.
Do you write court-ready expert opinions?
I write market-based valuations from more than ten years in the trade and the auction business. If you need an opinion that requires a public appointment, I say so and name a suitable address.
